“Row, Row, Row Your Boat” – Free Music for Babies

by | Apr 15, 2014 | Baby Games, Baby Music, Free Stuff, Nursery Rhymes | 0 comments

This is a free music activity for you to enjoy with your baby. It’s taken from my Music Activities for Babies 8 session program, Session 1 – “Over The Water” in which we explore songs and nursery rhymes about boats and water.

Row, Row, Row Your Boat is a classic nursery rhyme that you would no doubt remember from your childhood. In this activity I demonstrate a couple of options for the actions.  See below the video for details of what to do and the lyrics. Enjoy!

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

What to Do

  1. Sit on the floor with your baby facing you and hold her hands. Note! If she still requires head and neck support place her in your lap and hold your hands behind her head.
  2. Rock gently backwards and forwards in time to the music, as you sing the song.

Lyrics

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream

Row, row, row your boat
Gently up the creek
If you see a little mouse
Don’t forget to squeak!

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
If you see a crocodile
Don’t forget to scream!

Row, row, row your boat
Gently to the shore
If you see a lion
Don’t forget to roar!

Join my 8 session program of 100+ music activities for you and bub for only $5/month.

I sing and demonstrate the actions. You’ll soon be singing along, sharing smiles and giggles with baby and feeling great for playing an active role in your baby’s development.
