Designed for 3-5 year old children, your child will love the fun environment and will want to return each week to do music with me, Miss Sarah (a qualified teacher). I create an atmosphere of wonder and excitement throughout each class with puppet friends, a special suitcase of instruments and props and lots of movement.
My lessons aren’t only about fun – your child will be learning the whole time. Music ignites all areas of development, and you will be amazed at the ways in which my structured and sequential music class will help boost your child’s learning, behaviour and self-assurance!

My music class will help your child develop their social and emotional skills – the most important aspect of school readiness. Music activities focus on; turn taking, listening to and following instructions, body control, controlling emotions and getting along with others.

Cognitive Development
Music is one of the only activities that fires up the whole brain. It builds brain power that is required for all learning. In fact, research has shown that children who regularly participate in music in the years before school, start school with higher levels of reading and math ability! I include lots of active music making in my classes (playing instruments and body percussion) to really get your child’s brain firing on all cylinders.
Language / Communication Skills
There are many studies that show music helps children acquire language. It’s also great for children from non-English speaking backgrounds. Music shares the same pathways in the brain as language and it is like a language – filled with rhythms, rhymes, patterns and intonations. It builds your child’s ear for language, which in turn helps them with their communication skills. I’ll teach your child lots of songs and rhymes throughout my class which will not only be great for their speech but will also help them learn new words and increase their vocabulary.
Literacy Skills
Your child will learn to read more easily and quickly if they have something called phonological awareness. Phonological awareness is an understanding of the sound structures of language. It allows a child to discriminate, remember, and manipulate sounds at the sentence, word, syllable, and phoneme (sound) level. My preschool program includes lots of songs and rhymes that build concepts of words and syllables, provide opportunities to recognise and produce rhyme and identify phonemes. I also incorporate storytelling through song, which helps your child develop comprehension skills.

Parental Attendance: Parents are required to remain on the premises.

About your music teacher...
Hello Parents!
I'm Sarah, I'm an engaging and energetic early years teacher with 12 years of experience in early learning. I have a background in music - singing is my thing and I also play the guitar. Most of my time as a school teacher has been spent with wonderful prep classes, so I understand what skills children need to start school. I've also conducted school choirs, been co-music director in school musicals and have previously taught early childhood music classes privately and in childcare centres.
I really do believe that music provides children with so many amazing learning and developmental benefits, a belief that is backed by a LOT of research. I'm particularly passionate about language and literacy development and the ways in which music promotes these learning areas.
I'm the creator and director of The Bubblebox, which originally began its journey as an online music program for babies. I've recently been been published in leading magazines and blogs such as Families Magazine, Bubhub and The Asian Parent.
